Setting up printers, scanners and the cash drawer

Hardware is set up on the POS itself, under Settings. You will find tiles for Printers, Print Jobs, Scanners and Cash Drawer.

Add a printer

1. Open Settings, then Printers.
2. Use Auto Discover to scan for printers, or add one manually: Add Network Printer (IP address and port, usually 9100), Add USB Printer, or Add Bluetooth Printer.
3. Choose a role: Receipt, Kitchen, Report or Label.
4. For a network printer, use Test Connection, then Save Printer.
5. Tap Test on the printer to send a test slip.

Use Stations to choose which kitchen printer each kitchen station prints to. On Windows, a printer marked Needs Windows Setup can be installed from the same screen with Install in Windows.

Print jobs

Settings, then Print Jobs, shows active, failed and recently completed jobs. Failed jobs can be retried, or retried on another printer. A kitchen ticket can be printed again from here.

Barcode scanners

Open Settings, then Scanners, to choose the input types you use, such as keyboard style USB or Bluetooth scanners or the device camera. Camera scanning works on Android and iOS. Use the Scanner Tester to scan a few codes, then Calibrate to tune detection automatically.

Cash drawer

Open Settings, then Cash Drawer. Choose the Drawer Trigger Printer (by default the main receipt printer), turn on automatic opening after a cash payment, and adjust Pulse On and Pulse Off if your drawer does not open reliably. Open Drawer opens it manually.
