Overview

Menus are the core of your digital presence, allowing you to group categories and items into a cohesive offering for your customers. You can create multiple menus for different purposes (e.g., "Dine-in Menu", "Delivery Menu", "Seasonal Specials").

How-To Guide

Creating a New Menu

  1. Navigate to the 'Catalog' section in the sidebar and select 'Menus'.
  2. Click the "Create Menu" button.
  3. Enter the Menu Name (English) (e.g., "Summer Specials").
  4. Optionally, provide a Menu Name (Arabic) and Description (English/Arabic).
  5. Toggle "Menu is Active" if you want it to be immediately available.
  6. Click "Create Menu".
  7. After creation, you will be redirected to the Menu Structure page to add categories and items to your new menu.

Editing Menu Details

  1. Navigate to the 'Catalog' section in the sidebar and select 'Menus'.
  2. Find the menu you wish to edit in the list.
  3. Click the "Edit Menu Details" icon (pencil) next to the menu name.
  4. Make the necessary changes to the menu's name, description, or active status.
  5. Click "Save Changes".

Managing Menu Structure

  1. Navigate to the 'Catalog' section in the sidebar and select 'Menus'.
  2. Find the menu whose structure you want to manage.
  3. Click the "Manage Structure / Add Items" icon (tree-like icon) next to the menu name.
  4. On the Menu Structure page, you can:
    • Add Category Section: Group items under specific categories.
    • Add New Item: Create a new item and add it directly to this menu.
    • Add Existing Items: Select items from your catalog to add to this menu.
    • Rearrange: Drag and drop categories and items to change their order.
    • Publish Changes: Make your menu changes live.

Deleting a Menu

  1. Navigate to the 'Catalog' section in the sidebar and select 'Menus'.
  2. Find the menu you wish to delete.
  3. Click the "Delete" icon (trash can) next to the menu name.
  4. Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action cannot be undone.

Publishing a Menu

  1. After making changes to a menu's structure or details, navigate to the Menu Structure page.
  2. Click the "Publish Changes" or "Publish Now" button. This will make your latest menu configuration live for all associated menu links.

Key Concepts

  • Menu Structure: The hierarchical arrangement of categories and items within a specific menu.
  • Publishing: The action of making your menu changes visible to customers. Unpublished changes are only visible in the dashboard.
  • Menu Item Overrides: Specific settings (like price or availability) for an item that apply only within a particular menu, overriding its global item settings.
