Overview
The Menu Structure page allows you to define the exact layout and content of a specific menu. Here, you can add categories and items, arrange their order, and configure menu-specific overrides for items.
How-To Guide
Accessing Menu Structure
- Navigate to the 'Catalog' section in the sidebar and select 'Menus'.
- Find the menu you want to manage.
- Click the "Manage Structure / Add Items" icon (tree-like icon) next to the menu name.
Adding Categories to a Menu
- On the Menu Structure page, click "Add Category Section".
- You can either:
- Select Existing: Choose an existing category from your catalog.
- Create New: Create a brand new category and add it to this menu.
- Click "Add to Menu".
Adding Items to a Menu
- Within a specific category section, or at the top level if no sections are present, you can:
- Add New Item: Click "Add New Item" to create a new item and add it directly to this menu.
- Add Existing Items: Click "Add Existing Items" to select items from your catalog that are not yet in this menu.
- Follow the prompts to select or create the item.
Rearranging Categories and Items
- On the Menu Structure page, click the "Rearrange" button.
- Drag and drop categories to change their order.
- Drag and drop items within categories or between categories to reorder them.
- Click "Done Arranging" to save the new order.
Configuring Menu Item Overrides
- When adding or editing an item within a specific menu's structure, you can access the "Menu Overrides" tab.
- Here, you can set a Menu Item Price Override that applies only to this menu, or toggle "Item is Available in this Menu" to control its visibility for this specific menu.
- You can also configure Menu-Specific Variant & Modifier Configurations that override the item's default settings.
Publishing Menu Changes
- After making any changes to the menu structure (adding/removing categories or items, reordering, setting overrides), the menu will show "Unpublished changes".
- Click the "Publish Changes" or "Publish Now" button to make these changes live and visible to your customers.
Key Concepts
- Menu Section: A category that acts as a grouping for items within a menu.
- Unpublished Changes: Modifications made to the menu structure that are not yet live.
- Live Menu: The version of the menu currently visible to customers.
