Overview

This article covers how merchant users sign in to the Tappya dashboard, register new accounts, recover forgotten passwords, and stay signed in across devices. The dashboard uses Firebase Authentication under the hood, so the same credentials work whether you sign in by email/password or via Google.

Signing in

  1. Go to your Tappya dashboard URL and you'll arrive at the Sign In page.
  2. Enter the email address and password you registered with.
  3. Click Sign In.

Sign in with Google

If you prefer, click Sign in with Google and pick the Google account you want to use. The first time you do this Tappya will create or link the account to your Tappya tenant.

Stay signed in

Tappya keeps you signed in on each browser until you explicitly sign out, your session expires due to inactivity, or you change your password.

Registering a new account

If your organisation doesn't have a Tappya account yet:

  1. From the Sign In page, click Sign up now.
  2. Enter your email, choose a password, and confirm it.
  3. Tick the Terms and Conditions checkbox.
  4. Click Create Account.

You'll be taken straight into the Onboarding flow to set up your business profile.

You can also click Sign up with Google to register with a Google identity instead of email/password.

If your organisation already has a Tappya account and you need access, do not create a second account. Instead, ask an existing admin in your organisation to invite you from Settings → User Management. Self-registering creates a brand-new tenant with no shared data.

Forgot your password

  1. On the Sign In page, click Forgot your password?.
  2. Enter the email address you registered with.
  3. Check your inbox for the password-reset email (it may take a minute, and may land in Promotions or Spam).
  4. Follow the link in the email and choose a new password.

If you registered with Google and don't have a password, sign in with Sign in with Google instead: there's nothing to reset.

Signing out

Click your avatar in the top-right of the dashboard and choose Sign Out. This signs you out of the current browser only; other devices stay signed in.

Common issues

  • "Invalid email or password": double-check capitalisation. If you signed up with Google originally, you don't have a password, use the Google button.
  • Password reset email never arrived: check spam/promotions. The email is sent by Firebase on behalf of Tappya, so the sender domain looks like noreply@<firebase-project>.firebaseapp.com.
  • "Account is disabled": your admin has revoked access. Contact someone with admin rights on your account.
  • You see the wrong company after signing in: you likely have two separate Tappya accounts under the same email. Sign out and use the other login method, or contact support.

Key Concepts

  • Email/Password Authentication: Standard email + password sign-in.
  • Google Authentication: Sign in using an existing Google identity. Faster, and you don't have a Tappya-specific password to remember.
  • Tenant: Your Tappya account. One user identity can belong to multiple tenants if invited; the dashboard prompts you to pick one when this is the case.
  • Session: A signed-in browser context. Sessions persist across tabs and across browser restarts until you sign out.
