August 2026: AI Features, POS Offline Mode, and Enhanced Analytics

AI Studio (beta)

Tappya now bundles a set of AI-powered tools that run on top of your real catalog and operations data. The AI knows your menu, your branches, and your sales history. Available features include:

• Menu description generation: automatically write Arabic and English descriptions for items
• Photo-to-menu: upload a photo of a physical menu and the AI extracts items, prices, and categories
• Sales forecasting: get predicted demand for the next 7 days based on historical patterns

Access AI Studio from the top-right corner of the dashboard.

POS Offline Mode

The Tappya POS now supports full offline operation. When the network drops, the POS continues to:

• Take orders and print receipts
• Apply discounts and promotions
• Split bills
• Track cash drawer state

All transactions sync automatically when connectivity returns. Offline mode is enabled by default for all paired devices after one successful online sync.

Enhanced Analytics Dashboard

The Analytics section has been redesigned with:

• Real-time sales graphs with 15-minute granularity
• Item-level profitability reports (revenue minus cost of goods)
• Hourly heat maps showing peak ordering times
• Customer cohort retention curves

ZATCA Phase 2 Compliance

Tappya now generates compliant e-invoices for the Saudi ZATCA Phase 2 requirements, including:

• QR codes with embedded XML
• UUID generation per invoice
• Automatic tamper-evident hashing

Enable in Settings > Compliance > ZATCA.

• Faster menu load times on the customer app (40% reduction)
• Improved KDS ticket formatting for complex modifier orders
• Better handling of large modifier groups (up to 50 options per group)
• Arabic search improvements in the online ordering app

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where duplicate orders could appear in the KDS during high-load periods
• Corrected tax calculation for mixed-currency orders
• Resolved a bug where the POS would not auto-print after a network reconnect
• Fixed mobile layout issues on the customer app for devices with notches
