title: "Introduction to Tappya"
feature: "Getting Started"

Overview
Tappya is an end-to-end restaurant management platform. A single Tappya account brings together your digital menu, your point of sale, your online ordering channel, your team, and your reporting in one place. This article gives you a map of the system so you know where to go for what.
What's in your Tappya account
The Dashboard (web)
The dashboard is the management surface you'll spend most of your time in. From here you set up your menu, your branches, your team, and you watch what's happening across your business. It runs in any modern web browser and is available in English and Arabic, with full right-to-left support.
The POS app (Tappya POS v2)
Tappya POS is the in-store cashier app. It runs on tablets (typically Android, also supported on iPad and on Windows/macOS for back-office tills). One POS install can run in three different modes depending on where in the restaurant it sits — Main Cashier, Secondary POS, or Waiter. See [POS Overview](../POS/Overview.md).
Online Ordering (customer app)
This is the customer-facing menu and ordering site. Customers reach it either by scanning a QR code on a table, by following a Menu Link you share, or directly via your branded URL. They can browse the menu, place delivery and pickup orders, and (if dine-in is enabled) order from a seated table. See [Online Ordering Overview](../Online-Ordering/Overview.md).
Menu Links
Public, shareable URLs (with QR codes) that point to a published menu for a specific branch. Used for QR-on-table dine-in menus, for delivery flyers, for social bios — anywhere you want to expose a menu without an integration. See [Menu Links](../Menu-Links/Menu-Links.md).
How the pieces fit together
- You build your catalog (items, categories, modifiers, variants) in the dashboard.
- You publish one or more **menus** that group those items for a specific use case (Dine-in, Delivery, Breakfast, etc.).
- A **Menu Link** exposes a published menu to the public — that's the QR code on the table or the URL on your flyer.
- The **POS** rings up dine-in / takeaway / phone orders made in-store. Orders ring through to kitchen displays (KDS) and to your accounting and inventory.
- **Online Ordering** lets customers place orders themselves from their phone. Those orders land in the same Live Orders view in the dashboard and on the same KDS.
Everything is multi-branch, multi-tenant, and multi-language by design. Your catalog can live at brand level while specific branches override pricing, availability, or whole menu sections.
Where to start
If you're new, work through these in order:
1. Complete the [Onboarding flow](../Onboarding/Onboarding.md) (business profile + first branch).
2. Build your [items](../Catalog-Management/Items/Items.md), [categories](../Catalog-Management/Categories/Categories.md), [modifier groups](../Catalog-Management/Modifier-Groups/Modifier-Groups.md), and [variant groups](../Catalog-Management/Variant-Groups/Variant-Groups.md).
3. Assemble those into a [menu](../Catalog-Management/Menus/Menus.md) and publish it.
4. Create a [Menu Link](../Menu-Links/Menu-Links.md) so customers can reach it.
5. If you're using the POS, activate at least one device from the dashboard (see [POS Pairing and Modes](../POS/Pairing-and-Modes.md)).
6. If you're using online ordering, enable it on each branch and configure delivery zones and payment methods (see [Online Ordering Merchant Setup](../Online-Ordering/Merchant-Setup.md)).
Key Concepts
- **Tenant / Account**: Your top-level Tappya account. Everything you create lives inside it.
- **Brand**: A business identity within an account (most accounts have one brand; chains may have several).
- **Branch**: A physical location. Pricing, availability, hours, and online-ordering settings can all vary per branch.
- **Catalog**: Your library of items, categories, modifiers, and variants. Reusable across menus.
- **Menu**: A curated arrangement of catalog items for a specific use case, published to one or more branches.
- **Live Orders**: The real-time view of every order in flight across your branches, regardless of origin (POS, online, call-center).
