Last updated October 26, 20262 min read
Start your shift with a session, move cash in and out, and hand the till to the next person with a clean count.
Steps
- On the till, open MY SHIFT. If you see "NO ACTIVE SESSION", tap OPEN SESSION to start.
- To put cash in the drawer, tap ADD CASH. To take cash out, tap WITHDRAW and pick a category (Salary, Rent, Supplier, Utilities or Other).
- When your shift ends on a shared till, tap HAND OVER.
- Choose COUNT THE TILL to count the cash now, or SKIP AND LOG OUT to leave without counting.
- If you count and the cash does not match, pick a reason (for example Counting error or Change given wrong). Larger differences also need a note and a manager PIN.
- If your branch gives each person their own drawer, you will see END MY SHIFT instead. Count your cash and tap END SHIFT & PRINT SUMMARY.
Good to know
- Your branch chooses the drawer mode: one shared till, or one drawer per person. A manager sets it in the branch POS settings.
- On a shared till, any difference since the last count is recorded under your name when you hand over.
- Entering 0 when cash is expected is refused unless you tick "I did not count the drawer".
- A withdrawal is refused if the drawer does not hold that much cash.
- Opening a session, adding cash and withdrawing each need their own permission. Ask your manager if a button is missing.
- If yesterday was never closed, the till shows "YESTERDAY'S DAY IS STILL OPEN". A manager must choose to close it or continue it.
