AI Features

Overview

Tappya bundles a set of AI-powered tools to help you set up faster and operate smarter. They all run on top of your real catalog and operations data: the AI knows your menu, your branches, and your sales.

What's available today

Tappya AI Assistant

A chat panel that opens from the floating button (or the AI icon in the header). It can:

• Answer "how do I…?" questions about the dashboard.
• Navigate you to specific pages on request.
• Pre-fill forms when you describe what you want (e.g. "create a new item called Margherita Pizza at AED 35").
• Explain validation errors and what to do about them.
• Summarise data on the current page.

Forms across the dashboard are annotated with AI context, which is what lets the assistant understand fields like "Item Price" or "Parent Category" without inspecting code.

AI Menu Import

Found at AI → Menu Import in the sidebar.

Upload a PDF, image, or spreadsheet of an existing menu and Tappya will extract items, prices, categories, descriptions, and (where present) modifier options. You review the extracted catalog, make corrections, then commit it into your real catalog with one click.

Best for: migrating from a paper menu or PDF, importing a competitor's structure to start from, getting a quick draft from a screenshot.

AI Item Image Generator

Found at Settings → Tools → AI Item Image Generator.

Generate appetising product photos for items you don't have photography for. You provide the item name and a short prompt, the model returns a few candidate images, you pick one and it lands in your Asset Manager attached to the item.

Pro Image Studio

Found at Settings → Tools → Pro Image Studio.

A lightweight image editor for cleaning up existing photos: background removal, simple retouching, format/size conversion. Best used after you've shot photos in-store and want them ready for menu use.

Pulse / Brain (where enabled)

The Brain (sometimes shown as "Pulse" in the sidebar) is an analysis workbench. It looks at your sales, items, customers, and operations and produces:

• Analysis: written briefings about what's working, what isn't, and why.
• Actions: concrete recommended actions (e.g. "Pause this item, it has zero sales in 30 days and is taking image space" or "Bundle these two items as a combo").

Brain is plan-gated; if your sidebar doesn't show Pulse, your current plan doesn't include it. Contact Sales or upgrade in Settings → Subscription.

Where AI is woven into the rest of the product

You don't have to go to an "AI section" to benefit:

• The Help icon in the header opens this knowledge base, but the AI Assistant on the same screen can answer in your own words.
• Item descriptions can be auto-written from the item name.
• The Setup Checklist uses AI prompts to nudge you through configuration in plain English.

Privacy and data

AI features run on your tenant's data only. Tappya does not share your menu or your sales data with other tenants. Where the AI calls an external model provider (e.g. for image generation), the request is scoped to your account and is not used to train shared models.

Key Concepts

• AI Assistant: The chat panel that's always available from the header / floating button.
• AI Agent: A specialised AI tool with a focused job (Menu Import Agent, Image Generator, etc.).
• Brain / Pulse: The standalone analysis workbench. Plan-gated.
• AI context annotations: Metadata attached to form fields that lets the assistant understand them. Invisible to you as a merchant; relevant only as background.
